Tree Felling with a Drill Cone

چکیده
Motor-manual timber felling is one of the most dangerous operations in forest and cannot be completely replaced by fully mechanized harvesting a harvester when dealing with large deciduous trees. Shifting center gravity tree ready to felled beyond its tipping line using conventional wedges because worker directly behind stem under crown until just before falls. The can hit trunk itself, but also falling parts crown. In preliminary study for development new type head, drill cone that open cut help an applied torque was investigated. A does not require any special cutting technique, no counter forces tree, works without impulses, it self-retaining unscrewed again. In order determine required as function parameters, mathematical equation framework established practical experiments were used friction parameters verify calculations. bend intact fibers hinge, shift direction fall, overcome on cut. effects forward or backward leaning trees quantified. It has been shown efficiency low, this compensated high internal lift ratio. maximum measured input diameter up 55 centimeter 100 Nm.

Tree regeneration in felling and natural treefall disturbances in a semideciduous tropical forest in Mexico
Tree regeneration was compared among closed-canopy sites and 4±11-year old natural and felling gaps in a selectively logged semideciduous tropical forest in southeastern Mexico. Closed-canopy sites and gaps were selected strati®ed randomly. In addition, all large natural and felling gaps encountered were sampled. All stems 5 cm dbh were sampled in sets of 10 m plots in closed-canopy sites and g...
متن کاملImpacts of Mechanical Tree Felling on Development of Water tipelo Regeneration in the Mobile Delta, Alabama
Two water tupelo (Nyssa aquatica L.) stands in the Mobile Delta of Alabama were selected to test the hypothesis that mechanizedfelling does not reduce establishment and growth of natural water tupelo regeneration relative to traditional tree felling with chainsaws. To test the hypothesis, we established six, 2 ac treatment plots in each of two blocks on each of two sites, and randomly assigned ...
متن کاملPerformance, Capability and Costs of Motor-Manual Tree Felling in Hyrcanian Hardwood Forest
Nacrtak Motor-manual tree felling is the most labor-intensive component of all harvesting operations and frequently represents a bottleneck in wood production. The study of motor-manual tree felling was carried out in two compartments in the Namkhaneh district of Kheyrud Forest. The objects of this study were as follows: time study of tree felling operations, estimate of chainsaw productivity a...
متن کاملSolving A Fractional Program with Second Order Cone Constraint
We consider a fractional program with both linear and quadratic equation in numerator and denominator having second order cone (SOC) constraints. With a suitable change of variable, we transform the problem into a second order cone programming (SOCP) problem. For the quadratic fractional case, using a relaxation, the problem is reduced to a semi-definite optimization (SDO) program. The p...
متن کاملharvested log damage associated with motor-manual tree felling and bucking (case study: beech and hornbeam trees in kheyrud forest)
the log damage and value loss were examined by felling and bucking function, species, and damage type, in kheyrud forest in namkhaneh district in the hyrcanian forest of iran. in order to calculate the wood value following tree felling and bucking, 250 trees and 167 logs consisting of beech and hornbeam species were measured. there were five types of damage recorded following the tree felling o...
